The Dead Zephyrs

Over the last year, The Dead Zephyrs, a 4-piece band from Masterton, New Zealand have been making some serious noise. TDZ have been together on and o for the last 10 years taking the various forms of teenage garage rockers, local pub cover band heroes, and now NZ National Champions.

After reforming in May 2023, they began honing a new sounding craft with guitarist Brian Belluomini and shortly thereafter in August, The Dead Zephyrs began a Nationwide Battle of the Bands campaign which they went on to place 1st making them the band from the Wairarapa region to do so. In winning this, they have also joined the ranks of other kiwi bands like OpShop and Kora.

After a short break over the festive season, they decided to bring the title home ocially with a gig at MasterBowl. They sold out the show at a total of 180 tickets and the night went o without a hitch. It is the largest local attendance for Wairarapa based bands since legendary local venue King Street Live shut its doors in 2015.

The Dead Zephyrs in recent months have ventured to The LAB Studios in Auckland to record 2 singles due to come out later this year. The singles are currently being looked after the fantastic folks at Sloth Mountain Studios.
