Disco Jefes
Disco Jefes was formed in 1994. Dylan Donkin (vocals & guitar,) and Brian Sagrafena (drums) were recruited by Andrew Gomez (bass) and Dan Leech (guitar) to fill a high school ‘battle of the bands’ talent show spot—which landed them not only second place but a long fun career of high school parties, playing clubs in San Francisco; such as Hotel Utah, Last Day Saloon, Slims, Paradise Lounge, DNA Lounge and so much more.
Disco Jefes first EP, by Invitation of Jason Newsted, and his engineer Raymond Anthony at The Chop House in Walnut Creek, was all recorded live in a weekend because the boys had school on Monday.
The band later recruited Jim Nunan on bass and Chester Thompson Jr. on keyboards.
After the band disbanded in 1998, Dan Leech continued writing music that became The Living Ingrates, and is still playing to this day in his own band, Redwood.
Dylan and Brian continued writing together and formed EchoBrain with Jason Newsted of Metallica. Andrew Gomez continued writing and later formed a San Francisco based band with his wife, NRVS LOVERS.
